Off She Goes

My little bird has left the nest and has taken a part of my heart with her.

She had trouble in Seattle, all of her money was stolen at her hotel, but was recovered a few hours later...I suspect it was an employee. I got a call from her crying in the middle of the night. The whole ordeal lasted until about 2:30 a.m. She had to get up at 6 a.m. so she hasn't had much sleep. The hotel did give her a free breakfast for her troubles.

The high temperatures here have been below 60 degrees, she is going into 90+ degree weather, yuck.

This is our last picture together at the airport. I miss her so much already.

My son is 6, and I hope he stays that age forever! The house is so quiet without him there (which is hardly ever).

Awwww :-)

I couldn't imagine my kids being so far away....our daughter is going to Guatemala next year for a semester- my wife can hardly wait.

My daugther went to Guatamala twice, she loved it there. At least she isn't moving there, that would be too far away.

This is soo different than when she moved out to live "on her own" because she still came home pretty often. Now, I don't know when I will see her next, but it won't be too long. I plan on going down there in a couple of months. I am excited for my daughter, sad for me :).

Must be hard. I guess everyone has to grow up.

Love your blog! I stumbled upon it one day linking from another bike minded blog. Great to read about life up in Alaska, I thought I knew what cold is from living in Toronto, but I was wrong! Keep up the great work.

I remember my oldest moving out when she was 19 (she's 23 now). I was bummed out and she moved only 2 miles away.

Cant imagine what it feels like with any real distance.

Take care.....

Our empty nest was difficult initially. But we wouldn't have it any other way now.

We have two free vacation homes. One in Atlanta and one in Boulder.

Thanks Dano

Vacation homes, that's a good way of looking at it! :)
