To the West, taken the evening of 10/13/07, before snow
Bike Boy, Jumping off his bike at high speed, sliding on the ice, then jumps back on the bike...show off! As soon as I got home today, we jumped on our winter bikes and went for a ride. It was really, really nice.
Hey Jeff, summer is a hit-and-run kind of thing here. Blink and it's gone
Donut Guy, anytime you are in my area, you have bike shop privileges. We do run studs on our winter bikes. I've had my bikes unexpectedly slid out from underneath me (without studs) just one too many times. But, as Bike Boy is demonstrating, our shoes are still slick. Got to expect the slid off the bike.
Dano, Ice, Ice, Baby! I like the last shot also. We have 5 more bikes but just ran out of room: The custom Duck Fart Limited Edition, Cannondale and I have 2 project bikes I want to work on this winter and a rescued 1970's Chicago Shwinn. Capt'n Balance keeps the Duck Fart and his Cannondale in his office. The project bikes are stored in the old silo in the barn.
Dr. Jay - ice biking is a lot of fun. And easier than riding on snow! Bike Boy and I are going to get some YakTrak's for our shoes so we can safely step off the bike. We are planning some lake rides as soon as the ice is thick enough. :) Woo Hoo!

Michelle, I'm drooling over your bike shed:-)
Does your son run studded tires?
We'll do the bike\ice slide here in Wisco too.
Nice pics!
Last one is the coolest!
Wow, the mountain scenery is spectacular! The ice biking looks exciting, I can't wait for winter here in Missouri.
Weren't we just talking about snow? Where'd summer go?
